LADS — Latin American Data in Science
The Latin American Data in Science (LADS) is a multidisciplinary, open-access scholarly journal dedicated to increasing the visibility and reuse of research datasets, strengthening collaboration across disciplines.
Our editorial approach: data-driven science
LADS was created to publish work in which data are a central component of the scientific contribution. For this reason, our editorial policy requires every submission to be associated with robust datasets, properly documented and made openly available (either as supplementary files within the system and/or deposited in recognized open repositories).
What we publish
We publish primarily Data Papers and also accept Research Articles—provided that the manuscript is accompanied by an open, reusable dataset.
-
Data Papers (primary format): articles whose main purpose is to describe a dataset and its metadata, rather than following the conventional research-article structure focused on hypotheses, results, and conclusions.
-
Research Articles with mandatory data sharing: manuscripts presenting scientific objectives and findings, conditional upon the availability of a robust, well-documented dataset (ready for reuse).
Languages and publication model
We accept submissions in Portuguese, English, and Spanish. We operate on a rolling basis and publish under a continuous publication model.
